Lanterns

Light of God

I love the vastness of the sea, the depths and the mysteries that lie beneath. I navigate the waves and ripples in the light, I dive into the deep with no fear in sight.

I swim as far down as I can go, where the currents will take me, I still don't know. I swim as far as the eye can see, I let the cascading sunbeams guide me.

As the sun sets I head back to my boat, I walk on the water, my Faith helps me float. I row towards the One calling my name, I head towards the shore— but it all looks the same.

When the storms approach and the winds blow hard, I row even harder towards the living God. When the tide works against me, and the sea turns to wrath, I need a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

When the sun leaves and the moon appears, the encroaching darkness evokes my fears. When it becomes harder to find my way, I hang lanterns on the bow to keep fear at bay…kt
